Everybody loves a great bad movie and The Room may be the worst/best bad movie of all time. Since it’s release it has amassed a cult following and even spawned a true Hollywood production of its creation, visualized in this first full TrailerTown for The Disaster Artist. The call-sheet for The Disaster Artist includes names like James and Dave Franco, Seth Rogan, Alison Brie, and the one-and-only Tommy Wiseau (yes, he’s in this as well). Between its stellar showing at TIFF and the early buzz around its release, The Disaster Artist has skyrocketed to near the top of our “Must-See” list this year.

Watch the brand new TrailerTown now and then read our Top 5 thoughts about it below:

Top 5 Things About The Disaster Artist Trailer

  1. Wiseau-My-God – Tommy Wiseau is a character unto himself (to say the least), and easily our favorite part of this TrailerTown is James Franco’s portrayal of him. From this trailer, he looks to play the part with honesty and enough humor to keep us laughing the whole runtime.
  2. Oh hai, TrailerTown – One thing that sets The Room apart from other bad films in a similar ilk is simply how terrible the acting is. The famous “Oh hai, Mark” scene has almost grown to cult status by itself. The Disaster Artist does not look like it shies away from showing how tough The Room was to film, giving us plenty to enjoy along the way.
  3. No Shave Dave – Dave Franco always looks like a cute, lost puppy, but in The Disaster Artist he’s sporting a great beard and, quite franco-ly, we love the look.
  4. Apat-OW – The last great Judd Apatow cameo we saw had him waving his dick at Andy Samberg. We don’t know if his cameo in The Disaster Artist will (or even could) overshadow that, but Judd playing an off-putting studio exec gave us a huge smile while watching this TrailerTown.
  5. Make ‘Em Laugh – The Room didn’t set out to make people laugh as much as they did, but thankfully The Disaster Artist looks to have that reaction squarely within its sights. The Franco’s want us laughing at The Room and we have every intention of doing just that.
