Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that High Five: The Podcast is hosting Jeff Goldblum Bingo at Diskin Cider in June, July, and August. What you may not know, is that June’s event is completely themed around one of our most favoritest Jeff Goldblum movies: Jurassic Park. When it was released in 1993, Jurassic Park took the world by storm, and for good reason. Your humble host J saw it in the theater at least five times himself. Since we’ve been surrounded by all things dinosaurs this week, what with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom getting released last week and our already world-famous Jeff Goldblum Bingo night, we decided to travel back in time to 1993 and give you our Top 5 Favorite Things about the original Jurassic Park TrailerTown.

If you haven’t seen it in a while, here’s a refresher for you, then head down below and read our Top 5 thoughts:

Top 5 Things About the Jurassic Park Trailer

  1. Will the Real Spielberg-y Please Stand Up – Stephen Spielberg will go down in history as one of the greatest directors of all time (and rightfully so), but some of his earlier works truly redefined what cinema could accomplish. His contributions to Jaws, E.T., Schindler’s List, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and (of course) Jurassic Park cannot be diminished. While his recent outings of The Post and Ready Player One show us that timeless talent, there’s nothing quite like his movies leading up to the year 2000.
  2. Announcer Voice – True, it’s not specifically related to Jurassic Park, but watching old TrailerTowns from the 90s reminds us how much we loved the classic movie trailer voice-over guy. While this one doesn’t start with “In a world…”, it does start with “Since the beginning of time….”, which is almost as good.
  3. Footprints in the Mud – Just pause this TrailerTown at the 1:41 mark and remember how amazing it was to see for the first time that T-Rex foot step down in the mud in front of Dr. Grant and Lexi. Just breathe it in. This is film near it’s best.
  4. Kitchen Nightmares – The Jurassic Park TrailerTown makes the smart decision to end with teasers for the Tim and Lexi vs. Raptors in the kitchen scene. One of the most marvelous scenes in American cinema.
  5. Gold Rush – While this TrailerTown has a criminally low amount of Jeff Goldblum greatness, we do get a lot of quick shots of him smiling and looking awesome (0:49, 1:00, and 1:57) and him making wonderful quips (1:08 and 2:23). We could have used a lot more, but we’ll take as much Goldblum as you’ll give us!

There you have it, the definitive list of the greatest parts of 1993’s Jurassic Park TrailerTown. What are your favorite parts of that movie? Let us know in the comments.
