Pick your character and draw your cards, because the Murder on the Orient Express TrailerTown is inviting you to play Clue with them on a train. In the upcoming adaptation of the famous novel of the same name, a slew of famous people investigate a snowy murder and it’s up to Kenneth Branagh doing his best “I look like Ewan McGregor” impression to figure out Who Dun It.

Don’t believe us that they are twins, feast your eyes:

Ewan McGregor Kenneth Branagh

He could easily be the offspring of a Ewan McGregor and Sean Bean lovefest, just sayin’

Top 5 Things About the Murder on the Orient Express Trailer

  1. The Passengers – We’re getting a lot of movies lately that are STACKED with talent, and this one is no different. Here’s a short list of people in this film: Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Willem Dafoe, Michelle Pfieffer, Dame Judi Dench, Josh Gad, Penélope Cruz, Tom Bateman, Leslie Odom Jr., and Kenneth Branagh, to name a few.
  2. That Character Introduction Tracking Shot – We don’t know if the tracking shot in the TrailerTown that introduces the characters (0:58) will be shown as it is in the film, but we would totally be on board for overlay text throughout this mystery.
  3. The Setting – Trains are fun, but a murder mystery set in the cramped quarters of a train stalled in the Orient is nothing if not intriguing.
  4. The Text – The blue, neon tubing style of the font for some reason appeals to our souls. There’s something about it that’s grabbing. We hope that eye for style is pulled throughout the film.
  5. This Behind-the-Scenes Video Series – Before we knew anything about the film, we knew that Josh Gad (an avid Star Wars fan) was constantly harassing Daisy Ridley on set to learn secrets about The Last Jedi. Watch it here to get a good laugh.

Since this is a very special TrailerTown post, we’re also going to share our least favorite thing about the Murder on the Orient Express trailer:

  1. The Accents – Russian accents? No thank you. But let’s do this because we want a good laugh!

So, do you think it was The Butler, in the Kitchen, with the candlestick, or will the mystery of the Murder on the Orient Express be more complicated than that? Will you see it when it comes out in November, or will you just read the book beforehand so you go in knowing who did the deed? Let us know in the comments!
