We freaking love Black Mirror. Charlie Brooker has created something that resonates with our souls and we take in new episodes of Black Mirror like Tom Hanks takes in coconut water in Castaway. Needless to say, we were extremely excited to see a sneak TrailerTown of all the season 4 episode titles and snippets when it was released this morning. After crying in happiness and watching the trailer 47 times, we decided to write down our thoughts.

Top 5 Things About the Black Mirror Season 4 Trailer

  1. Mystery Science Fiction Theater 4000 – Black Mirror is all about its mysteries, so to see that the TrailerTown is arranged very mysteriously gave us chills. It’s basically just the episodes titles and clips that don’t give much away at all. It looks like the mysteries will have to be revealed once it’s eventually released.
  2. Captain Landry – Wait….wait….is Jesse Plemons a starship captain in a Star Trek rip-off episode titled USS Callister? Call Kirsten Dunst and let her know her fiancé is even more awesome than we previously thought!
  3. Genre Takes – Charlie Brooker revealed in an interview that each episode in Black Mirror season 4 will be in a different genre. He’s stated there will be crime thriller, comedy, science fiction, romance, and more. Give us all you’ve got, Charlie!
  4. Black and Right – One of the segments, Metalhead, appears to be completely in black and white. It will probably be more suspenseful than Frances Ha, and we can’t wait to be scared by the future it shows us in monochrome.
  5. The Director’s Chair – Holy shit, the list of directors for these episodes is amazing. We’ve got David Slade, Jodie Foster, John Hillcoat, Tim Van Patten, Toby Haynes, and Colm McCarthy. Within their rosters we have the directors of Peaky Blinders, Doctor Who, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Hannibal, and American Gods, and feature films like Hard Candy, The Road,  and The Beaver. That’s a rap sheet we can get behind!
