This week is shaping up to be a great week for TrailerTowns. Not only are we getting some Marvel love, but on the other end of the spectrum, we’re getting a glimpse of the new Casey Affleck vehicle: A Ghost Story.

This look provides a peek into what we can only imagine will be a beautiful, stunning, and haunting (not our words) portrayal of time, loss, and love.

Top 5 Things About the A Ghost Story Trailer

  1. The Tone – The trailer is shot as if it’s an old photo, and the tone of the movie/trailer give the same feel. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
  2. The Visual Effects – While they are simple and understated, the look of the sheet and the visual effects of the film look to be very powerful.
  3. Casey Affleck – For a major movie star and Oscar winner to relinquish themselves to being under a sheet for the majority of a film is brave. Casey looks like he nails it.
  4. The Use of Memory/Time – Memories and time are powerful forces and this trailer gives the look of a movie that beautifully examines them both.
  5. The Music – A good trailer can be made great by the choice of music. This falls into that category.

So, what did you think of the first A Ghost Story trailer. Will you be haunted by it when it hits theaters?
